In one of my favorite books, “Like Water for Chocolate” (Como Agua Para Chocolate by Mexican author Laura Esquivel) Tita and Pedro love each other and want to get married but Tita, being the youngest daughter, is destined to take care of her ageing mother and is not allowed to be married. Pedro ends up marrying Tita’s sister but only so that he can live under the same roof as Tita. Tita had been trained since she was a very small child to be an exceptional cook so her mother forces her to make the wedding cake. While Tita is preparing the cake copious tears fall into the batter. At the wedding the guests are overcome with sadness when the cake is served. Tita discovers how strongly the food she prepares affects people’s moods and emotions.
Well, I believe there’s a little bit of Tita in all of us. The feelings and ingredients we put into the food we prepare affect the people that eat our cooking not only at a physical level but at a mental and spiritual level as well. How many times have you had a simple dish that tastes heavenly because of the love and care the cook put into it? How many times have you heard someone say that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach? Well I believe all of it. Everything we touch is charged with our own energy. We transmit this energy to others every time we serve them the food we have prepared. If you don’t believe me just ask Howard Stern’s wife who swears he proposed to her when she cooked him the “engagement chicken” recipe! (read more about this at: http://www.insideedition.com/news/6324/can-engagement-chicken-really-lead-to-a-proposal.aspx)
I work with a lady that has all kinds of recipes for every type of occasion. She has been kind enough to share her Abundance Fish for us. She is convinced that every time she cooks this fish some unexpected money pops up in her life. I won’t promise you that it will make you rich but I assure you it is delicious, fun and easy to prepare. Enjoy!

Interpreting The Colors of Your Aura…

An unaltered photograph of the author’s Aura – taken in Cassadaga Spiritual camp on January 2010
Those of you that have followed my blog for a while may remember that a couple of years ago I took a trip to Cassadaga, Florida to explore the mystic associated with the place. A couple of friends accompanied me on that trip and we were very excited to stay in the old, “haunted” hotel and learn more about the Psychics that work there.
My friends had a tarot card reading by one of the hotel psychics and were awed with the clarity of the message they received. One of them even experienced an unexplainable encounter during her spiritual consultation when a door inside the room where the reading was being conducted was suddenly opened. There was no draft in the room and the door had appeared to be securely closed. My friend was very startled and the psychic quickly explained that there were two little ghostly children in that particular room that often enjoyed playing a little prank while she did her readings. Two years later my friend is still talking about her ghostly encounter!
I, in turn, set out to find someone who would do an aura reading for me. For years I have been fascinated with the study of the human aura but had never been able to find someone who would photograph it and do a reading. In a little shop at the edge of the camp I saw a sign announcing that aura readings were available there. After a short wait, I was introduced to Katherine, my reader. She asked me to sit and hold two rocks while she took the picture. She did some prayers and deep breathing while the picture developed and then stared at the picture for what seemed an eternity. Then she smiled and told me about my aura.
The colors that stood out in my photograph were a deep indigo blue with violet and red/orange undertones. She said that the colors in my aura reflect an intuitive nature. The combination of colors that emanate from my physical body reveal someone who is sensitive and has deep feelings. She said that I had to be careful not to take things personal or I would easily allow my emotions to get the best of me and could get easily hurt. I certainly could relate to that as I have always known that I can be overly sensitive at times. She also confirmed what I’ve always known about my intuition and receptiveness to energetic fields. She told me things about my past and present that were pretty much on target. She concentrated in the career area of my life, which I was preoccupied with at the moment and gave me useful advice.
I was fascinated that she could tell me so much from the colors reflected in a picture so she explained that the aura is a luminous field that can be found in every object and living thing. “The colors of the aura are our spiritual signature,” she said. “They can tell a lot about a person’s feelings, karma and physical state of health as the color spectrum varies with one physical, emotional and mental state.”
A professional aura reading can offer you great insight about most aspects of your life. It can tell you what areas you need to work on so you can make positive changes and break old patterns. The listing below offers a guide to interpreting the different colors your aura may reflect.
