What Type of Psychic Reading Should I Choose?

What type of Psychic Reading Should I choose?

In our previous posting we covered Ifa and Shell (caracoles) readings that are performed by Babalawos and Santeros.  There are many other kind of psychic readings to choose from.  Some of the most common types are: palm readings, coffee readings, tea leaf readings, tarot card readings, Spanish card readings, aura readings, numerology readings, astrology readings and gifted readers do not use any type of instrument but rely only in their psychic abilities.  This posting will take a closer look at some of these methods.

In choosing the type of reading you want, you have to consider whether or not you can have a face to face encounter with the psychic. Distant readings include any type of reading where the psychic and the client do not have face to face contact.  These readings can be online readings, mail or phone readings.  If you can not be present then you must discard the palm reading and aura reading.  Also, keep in mind that most of the psychics that perform gifted readings prefer to have the client in the same room with them so they can connect to their energetic field.

It is possible to obtain some real guidance through a psychic reading.  “Real” psychics are hired even by governmental agencies to find missing people or even help solve murder cases.  This type of reading is a Psychometric Reading.  It mostly focuses on the past so the Psychic uses objects which were directly worn by the person or client or that relate to a certain event.  Many people opt for this type of reading when they are looking for answers about some past event in their life.

Below we will take a look at some of the most popular forms of Psychic readings:

Palm Readings – The art of reading a person’s palm can be learned and does not require for the reader to possess great sensory abilities.  A palm reader will examine the curves, shapes, lines and wrinkles of the client’s hand to make predictions about their future.  There are many on line sites that offer information on palm reading.  You can even learn to read your own palm.

Coffee Grind and Tea Leaf Readings -  The art of tea leaf or coffee grounds divination is called Tasseography.  The client drinks the tea or coffee which will have leaves or grinds that sit at the bottom of the cup.  Once the liquid is drunk the leaves or grinds are left to settle and dry against the cup.  The pattern they form create the symbols that the reader will interpret for the client.

Tarot Card Readings – There are 78 cards in a Tarot deck.  Each of these cards have a special meaning depending in the order they emerge.  Tarot card reading has become one of the most popular methods of divination.   The client chooses some cards from which predictions about certain areas of the client’s life are made.

Spanish Cards (Baraja Española) Readings -  The reading of Spanish cards is know as Cartomancy and it takes some training and studying to learn the meaning of these cards.  The deck of cards used for divination consists of 40 cards that are divided into 4 suits (palos): Cups or Hearts (Copas),  Coins or Diamonds (Oro), Clubs (Bastos), Spades (Espadas).  Each of the cards within the suit affect an area of your life.  The spread of the card is used to find predictions to problems and predict the future.

Hope you found the above information helpful.  We plan to continue looking at other methods of psychic readings  in future blog postings.  Keep tuned to Divinafe.com and send us your comments, ideas and experiences so others can benefit from them!

Finding the right Psychic Reader…

Finding the Right Psychic Reader

First, let me start by saying that I believe everyone has psychic abilities.  However, that does not mean that everyone can do a psychic reading.  I, for one, get asked by many of my customers if I would do a reading for them.  Although I am very sensitive to energetic fields around me I have never developed any clairvoyant abilities that would allow me to perform a “fortune telling reading.”

In this cybernetic age finding an honest reader is a challenge that requires some education on the part of the individual seeking the spiritual advice.  There are as many types of readers out there as there are people interested in getting there fortune told.  I believe that many of these readers are extremely gifted.  I myself have met a few of them and have been impressed by the clarity and accuracy of their messages.  Before you invest your hard earned money in getting someone to do a reading for you make sure you understand what kind of reader will best suit your needs.

Starting with this posting, I will dedicate the upcoming blogs to researching the different types of readers out there.  We will also try to examine the “signs” that you should look for in order to determine if you are dealing with a real psychic or a fake.  We will begin our exploration of real versus fake readers by taking a look at what you can expect from a reading by a Santero or Babalawo.

 Santeros and Babalawos:

Unfortunately there are many internet sites that offer readings by a Palero, Santeria Priest or Babalawo and not all of them are real.  Santeria and Palo are religions that take years of practice, study and dedication.  These religions require initiation and the practice of regular religious rituals to invoke and honor numerous deities. If you are seeking the psychic advice of a Yoruba practitioner it is best to understand their affiliations.  Any true practitioner would be willing to disclose who their initiators or godparents were.

You will also want to ask if the reader will do an “ifa” reading.  Only Babalawos can perform an Ifa reading as this is the highest form of divination in the religion. Please be aware that divination in the Yoruba religion is not considered fortune telling.  Even though, a skilled Babalawo will often dig into a person’s past, present and future, the purpose is not tell the client what the future holds.  The purpose of and Ifa divination is to help you align yourself with your destiny and the divine will of the Orishas (Yoruba deities).

The second highest form of divination in the Yoruba religion is the reading with caracoles or Cowrie Shells.  These Shells consecrated by the Orishas are used by Santeros to convey the message from these deities.  The reader throws the shells and counts the number of shells that fall face up in order to get to the Letra or sign that applies to the client.  In this way the client receives the Divine message that will help him or her achieve balance and harmony in his or her life.  This kind or reading seeks to prescribe the client with the necessary tools to live in synchrony with the universal force of goodness, abundance and nature.
