The word empowerment is something we hear quite a lot these days. Have you ever stopped to think about what it means? I have, many times. To me, an empowered person is one that has control over his/her emotions and chooses to exercise that control in order to have a happier life. When you are empowered you are no longer anyones victim. Thats what I call Being Your Own Diva! So how do we become Our Own Diva? Like anything else in life that is worth while, it takes effort, dedication and discipline. But the good news is that it is also fun, rewarding, and gets easier each time you practice. I think the Holiday Season is a perfect time to make positive changes in our life so I can think of no better time to get started than right now! With the right attitude and a little help with from your other Diva friends (meJ) you will be well on your way to Being Your Own Diva by the time the New Year rolls around. So Lets Get Started The word DIVA itself holds the key.

Divine Help Asking for help from the Universe and Supreme Being.

Intuition Developing your Insight so you can be guided.

Visualization Focusing on a clear mental picture produces the results we seek.

Attraction Becoming aware that our thoughts, words and deeds are like magnets.

 

The steps below are designed to help you get started:

  • Find a quiet place in your home and make it your own. The only requirement is that you can spend sometime alone without interruption. Set 20 minutes away each day preferably at the same time each day.

  • Light a candle and focus on the flame. Watch the flame for a few minutes and feel yourself relax.

  • Take a deep breath and as you exhale feel your body relax. Take a second deep breath and as you exhale feel your mind relax. Take a third deep breath and as you exhale feel the light of the universe flow through your body.

  • Ask for Divine Help. Say a simple prayer asking for guidance and help. State your intentions to the universe and the Supreme Being.

  • Visualize yourself surrounded by a beautiful light that envelopes you in peace and tranquility and that lets you see yourself clearly, your own beauty and perfection.

  • Once again thank God for the meditation and the assistance.

This meditation should be practiced daily. I suggest you keep your meditation fresh each day by practicing bathing ritual, burning incense, writing a gratitude journal and lighting candles. CHANGO AND SAINT BARBARA A POWERFUL STORY AND RITUAL

Diva says: His perfect physical beauty represents virility. He was blessed from birth with the intuition required for divination. His name in Yoruba means war. Chango is one of the most popular Orichas. He is the king of fertility, wealthy, fun, wise, loves music but he is also irritable. Chango is the God of thunder and lightning.

In one of the stories that surrounds Chango he went to war disguised as Oya his lover. Oya came out to fight next to him and proclaimed that Chango and Oya together would always be invincible. It is believed that is how the syncretism with Saint Barbara was born.

 

Chango had many lovers and many problems because of their constant fighting and jealousy. Having been crowned King of the Earth by his father Obatala he also had many enemies. One day Chango tired of it all and went to the forest looking for refuge and peace. His lovers and enemies looked for him in vain and believed he had died but Chango in his wisdom proclaimed, Im not dead and never will be but now that my wives think Im dead they have stopped their fighting and jealousy and my enemies have forgotten their rancor. Therefore I will ascend to heaven and from there I will govern. My voice will be the ray of lightning ad I will take care of my own. And so he did.

 

Today many of his followers honor him with ceremonies that include dancing and music and Chango in turn takes care of them. His tools are made of wood and his spirit lives in beautiful, ornate wood bateas that are placed in altars. His colors are red and white and are represented in necklaces and macutos that are worn and carried for protection.

 

Those who love Chango and Saint Barbara honor and invoke their power through many different types of rituals. Below I bring you a Spiritual Bath that is an offering to their presence and a prayer for their blessings:

Bath offered to Chango / Saint Barbara for Weatlh and Abundance

INGREDIENTS:

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Melt the sugar until it becomes caramelized
  2. Stick the 4 cinnamon sticks in the apple and pour the caramelized sugar on top
  3. Sprinkle the apple with the caramelized sugar with gold glitter
  4. In a bowl mix 4 teaspoons of each of the perfumes mentioned above
  5. Place the 4 roses petals in the perfume mixture
  6. Light the red candle and place it in the middle of your altar
  7. On one side of the candle place the apple and on the other side place the perfume mixture with the roses.
  8. Say the following prayer: Oh powerful Chango, it has never been said that you have turned away anyone that has come to you in faith to ask for your help. Today I come to you powerful Saint Barbara/Chango to empower this bath in your name so that prosperity, love and attraction shine in my life just like your Ray of lightning light up the Sky. I ask you humbly in the name of the powerful creator. Amen
  9. Bathe – You are now ready to take your bath and do the final rinse with the perfumes. After the candle is finished take the apple and bury it somewhere in your backyard or in a potted plant.

THANKSGIVING ABUNDANCE SPELL

What better time than Thanksgiving to cast an abundance spell? After all, isnt being thankful and counting our blessings the very purpose of the Thanksgiving holiday? I think so. And, I got news for you, the more you count your blessings the more blessings you get! This simple but powerful spell based on gratitude will help you count your blessings and multiply them.

Start by Counting your Abundance Blessings

Blessing number 1 I am thankful for the Financial Abundance in my life - Say it like you mean it. Youve got a roof over your head, food on your table, and even a computer for your own personal use, you definitely have abundance. Realize it and give thanks.

Blessing number 2 I am thankful for the Abundance of Love in my Life – Whether we realize it or not we are loved. In a metaphysical level we are loved by our Angels, Spiritual guides and of course the Supreme Being. In a physical plane we may be loved by a partner, child, parent, relative, friend, co-worker, boss, pet or even a perfect stranger. If we are capable of feeling love for others then we are capable of receiving it.

 

Blessing number 3 I am thankful for the Abundance of Health in my life – Even if we appear not to be at the most perfect health moment in our lives we are perfect beings. Our spirit is always healthy and if we trust and believe in the perfection of the Universe then we are exactly in the place where we need to be and we must be thankful for it.

Prepare the Ingredients

red candleChoose your Candles. I suggest 3 candles one red, one white and one green. Place them forming a pyramid shape with the white one representing health at the top and the green (money) and red (love) at the base.

Gold CaviarGet really good incense. You can create you own mix with granular incense such as Myrrh, Frankincense, Copal and Estoraque or you can get a prepared granular incense such as Gold Caviar, 7 Powers, Gift of the Magi or a Botanical Incense. Remember you will need a metal or ceramic burner and charcoal briskets.

bellPrepare the Candle Dressing Ingredients – A small bell, some sprinkling waters and anointing oils. You can mix your own oils to create the effect you need. For money we suggest any of the money drawing oils. For Love choose the oil that best suits your desires, For Health use a Cinnamon, Camphor or Basil Oil.

The 3 Candle Dressing Steps

1. Clean the Candles

Very important! Before you place the candle in your altar you must clean it. The way you clean a candle is as follows:

Physically clean the outside of the candle remove any dust or wax from the glass and make sure the wick is trimmed so that it will burn evenly. Use a specially designated knife (bless the knife and use it only for the purpose of spiritual works) to clean any unwanted wax from the candle (if you are using a non glass encased candle) use a little baby oil or mineral oil to clean to clean the candle itself. For glass encased candles make sure you clean the outside of the glass thoroughly. You can use alcohol based cologne such as Florida Water. Now is the time to do any markings you want on the candle such as a name, or symbol.

  1. Bless the Candles for Spiritual Use

The candle is now ready to be placed on the altar. Light the candles and the incense sound the bell three times and repeat each of the 3 blessings outlined above. Then say I am abundance. I am a magnet for money. I am a magnet for love. I am perfect health. I am thankful for all the abundance in my life. Ring the bell 3 times.

Light the incense and pass it through the candles saying, As the smoke of this incense rises so does my gratitude and my abundance. I am thankful.

3. Charge the Candles with your Special Intentions

Take the oils and pour it in the candle melted wax (if a glass encased candle) or rub it on the outside a self standing candle the type of oil required for each candle saying these words, May this Sacred Oil seal my pact of abundance with the universe. I am a magnet for money. I am a magnet for love. I am perfect health. I am thankful for all the abundance in my life. Ring the bell 3 times

Never blow out a candle. When you are ready to put your candle out, use a glass or something metallic and put it over the flame until it goes out. I suggest you do this spell for 7 days in a row ending on the morning of Thanksgiving Day. Dont forget to do it with Divina Fe (Divine Faith).
