FENG SHUI – THE ART OF LIVING WELL

DIVA SAYS:

Feng Shui?!!?? How do you even pronounce it?? I’ve heard people say fen shuii others say Fung Shiand I myself pronounce it Fung Shuai. Who’s to say who‘s right or wrong?

The important thing about Feng Shui is not how you say it but how you use it. It has worked well for people in the far east for over 3000 years, maybeits time for us togive it a try!

The literal meaning of Feng Shui is Wind and Water. It makes sense that it is called that because wind and water are very fluid. And, Feng shui is all aboutkeepng “chi” the life force of nature flowingthrough the use of color, symbols and the 5 basic elments (earth, water, fire, metal and wood).

So, ok cool! But how does it do that? Well, according to ancient wisdon the same way that wind and water cool and refresh our bodies it also replineshes “chi” (energy life force). If our homes, and businesses are full of clutter then the chi that travels through it is weakened. Therefore, Feng Shui is best described as the “Art of Placement” the way we place objects in our homes can improve the chi that travels through our space improving our health, money, relationships and life in general.

Feng Shui is a complicated science and it takes years of practice and dedication to master it. However, if you apply some very basic concepts you can start improving your life almost immediately. Let’s get started!

The Bagua - An octagon that shows the most appropiate areas in your house for love, fortune, fame, health and family. Align the black section of the Bagua with the front door so you can identify the different areas of your home.

BAGUA

Black(Center Front Door)- Career and Life pathWater Element- If you want to have a better job or more fun at your present one, It is good Feng Shui to have something associated with water like a small water fountain at the entrance of your home. Also, it is favorable to have a black object over your front door.

Gray(Right Front)- Helpful people and travel part of your home – Element is Metal -If you want to increase the flow of people that can make your life easier into your life and have safe journeys keep some small metal object in the front right part of your home. A beautiful metalchest may do the trick. Fill that chest with cherished photos and amulets and a list of your intentions (desires).

Keeping this area neat is essential for ideas and clear thinking. It also helps with children problems. If you want to have children it is a good idea to keep a small toy or some other playful item in this part of the house.

Pink (Right rear portion of your home) – Love, Relationships and Marriage – Elements are earth and fire - This is the area of your home that has to do with romantic love. If you are looking for a relationship or want to improve the one you have it is a good idea to keep something pink in this part of your home. Have a sacred altar where you keep objects that represent abundance to you. A laughingbuddha surrounded with gold is a great reminder of the money we can have!
